Coordinates Lions financial support and service efforts to benefit Canine Companions for Independence. CCI is a non-profit organization that provides specially trained assistance dogs to individuals with physical, developmental and hearing disabilities.

Lions Club participation dates back to Canine Companions very beginnings in the mid-1970s. Lions and Lioness's in Northern California were the first volunteers recruited by Canine Companions to serve as puppy raisers and breeder caretakers. Interest grew and the Lions Project was formed in 1983 to coordinate and support efforts of Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs across the United States through a Club Membership and volunteer program.
