This is an MD-4 and District 4-L5 endorsed project.
City of Hope is a world-renowned research and treatment center, helping those with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. For more than 50 years the Lions Clubs of MD-4 have partnered with City of Hope to provide funds for ongoing research, treatment and educational programs, saving countless lives, providing exemplary patient care and offering beneficial support for families.
In 2017 Lions, Lioness and Leos of MD-4 completed their goal of raising one million dollars to name the Lions Clubs International Family Center at City of Hope. On December 31, Lions International President Naresh Aggarwal toured City of Hope and the newly named facility. On Lions Tribute Day in March, everyone in attendance viewed the official dedication ceremony. It was a very special day for MD-4 and for everyone who has worked for so long to make this unique endeavor a reality.
The next Lions project for City of Hope, in keeping with the Lions Club International recent commitment to diabetes, will be "Lions Diabetes Campaign". An advisory committee made up of Lions, Lioness, and City of Hope management is working together to facilitate this new campaign.
Donations of any amount to the "Lions Diabetes Campaign" are graciously accepted and deeply appreciated. Thank you gifts will be awarded at Lions Tribute Day at City of Hope on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
All contributions from your Club or members should be made payable to City of Hope, designated with "Lions Diabetes Campaign", and sent to Lions District 4-L5 Chairperson L/L Jeanne Vaughan in order to be properly credited to your Club.
Speakers are available.
