Riverside County

City of Hope

This is an MD-4 and District 4-L5 endorsed project.

City of Hope is a world-renowned research and treatment center, helping those with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. For more than 50 years the Lions Clubs of MD-4 have partnered with City of Hope to provide funds for ongoing research, treatment and educational programs, saving countless lives, providing exemplary patient care and offering beneficial support for families.

As part of their mission to care for the whole patient and their family, City of Hope maintains affordable on-campus housing that enables patients and their families to remain close to medical facilities and supportive care. A centerpiece of this Village is the Family Center, which offers a wide array of amenities, including kitchen, lounge, full bath, computer area with free Internet access, laundry room, meeting space, and recreation area. The Lions Clubs of MD-4 have been invited to champion the renovation and expansion of the Family Center, with a commitment of $1 million over 5 years. In recognition of the Lions invaluable support, this center will be named Lions Clubs International Family Center at City of Hope.

Donations of any amount to the "Million Dollar Miracle" are graciously accepted and deeply appreciated. Certificates of Appreciation for all donations will be presented at the MD-4 Convention in May. Additional recognition will also be awarded for larger donations and accumulated totals for the five-year commitment. All contributions from your Club or members should be made payable to City of Hope and sent to Chairperson Jeanne Vaughn in order to be properly credited to your Club.
